Red Bull Arena

On October 8, my wife and I became season ticket holders for the 2010 New York Red Bulls. For those of you who don't know, the Red Bulls are opening a new, soccer-specific stadium next year, and by any measure it is the finest soccer stadium in North America. As a way to entice and thank their fans, the Red Bull organization actually invited their season ticket holders into the stadium, still under construction, to get a first-hand look at the new digs. It was a great event, and after the miserable season they've logged this year, it really helped to get the blood pumping for next season.

Welcome to The Brewpub

Sitting at home, my honeymoon not three days over, and already I'm back to bachelor life. My lovely new bride headed off for her next gig in Florida, until mid-December. Thus, I decided, why not blog to pass the time? And so, I bring you The Brewpub. For now, a general blog which will take shape around my more frequent obsessions. Lately, that would mean the New York Red Bulls and U.S. Soccer, movies, Doctor Who (old and new), tasty malted barley and hops beverages, poker and casino excursions, and any work-related stage hand antics.

What I'll try to avoid is the completely aimless, self-indulgent style that assumes the world is interested in what color socks I'm wearing. I'll do my best to avoid that (unless I am wearing some truly remarkable socks.)

So, saddle up to the bar and enjoy. Feel free to comment and join in the conversation.
